Independent driving is part of the practical driving test. It’s a 10 minute section where candidate show that they can drive independently on their own.
On the test, the examiner will ask candidate to follow :
- A route following a series of given directions.
- Traffic signs & road markings
- A combination of the things above.
To give you a better understanding of what independent driving requires, your examiner may present a diagram which shows a given route.
The main purpose of this part of the test is to see how you would drive when you have to make decision on your own. You don’t need to worry about making a wrong turning as drivers do these things from time to time. What you should show is your ability to follow safe driving routines and rules of the road. That’s what the examiner whats to see.
